What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Call Embrey Dental right away, explain your situation, and get an appointment.
2. Manage Your Pain & Swelling
Apply a cold compress or ice pack to the outside of your face to reduce any swelling. You can also gently rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area and alleviate irritation.
3. Preserve Any Dislodged Fragments
If a tooth or piece of your tooth has come out, carefully retrieve it (handling by the crown, not the root) and place it in a cup of milk to bring with you to your appointment.

- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever if safe for you.
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of your jaw to reduce swelling and numb the area.
- Avoid hot or cold foods/drinks and chewing on the affected side.
After Your Appointment
During your visit, Dr. Lim will explain your situation and treatment options. He’ll also guide you through effective pain management techniques to make your procedure and at-home care as comfortable as possible.
